Die Ketten-Brücke
and Other Wooden Construction Sets

Die Ketten-Brücke (The Chain Bridge) was a mainly wooden construction system. This set makes a chain type suspension bridge as shown on the front of the box. It was one of many wooden construction sets made by Julius Stief of Nuremberg, Germany. They were made from at least 1898 to 1901.

According to the 1898-1901 catalogues (see below) produced by F. Wilhelm Doering, a toyshop in Karlsruhe in Germany, Stief produced many wooden constructional toys. All the toys in these catalogues were by Julius Stief. These are:-
